My mapped Screen Capture button on my MX Master now takes a screenshot only of the desktop, not the windows on it (macOS Big Sur). The program also provides AI-fueled auto-framing that keeps your face in the picture even if you move around, and auto-focus and exposure tools to improve the resulting images even in relatively low light.

That’s good news too, because Logitech Capture is the real power behind the throne here, giving the camera a substantive and useful array of capabilities, as well as compatibility with more heavy-duty streaming software from Xsplit (which provides an in-the-box deal on three free months of its premium package) and OBS.įor existing Capture owners, the updated version is available free through download here, and brings with it a new Dark Mode, overlays like lower thirds with a number of color, size and font options, and electronic image stabilization. It’s also, for the first time, available for MacOS, though still in beta form (I found no issues while testing the software on my 2018 MacBook Pro).
The camera is paired with an updated version of Logitech Capture, the company’s free software that’s both easy to use and surprisingly capable.
